As part of Akamai’s commitment to providing world-class delivery and security solutions, we are informing you of an important update regarding our China CDN services. Effective June 30, 2026, all China CDN services will reach their decommission date. After this date, any remaining content requests will be automatically served from neighboring countries, unless a country-specific partner solution is activated.
To ensure a smooth and efficient transition, we are pleased to announce our partnerships with Tencent Cloud and Wangsu Science & Technology (“Partners”), offering solutions designed for high-performance content delivery and enhanced security within mainland China.

# 碎碎唸

The first thought that comes to my mind: 劣幣驅逐良幣

CDN在技術側早已沒有什麼祕密，各私有云公有云都已寫輪眼了類似能力，但Akamai從產品穩定性、質量、安全等各個角度而言，仍然是全球CDN行業的leader。可惜的是，CDN行業在中國早已不是拼技術，而是比拼relationship。儘管在Compliance, Censorship等方面，Akamai在華業務也配合政府做了足夠多，但終究還是走到了中國業務的終點

我傾向於認爲，這個決定源自政治壓力(得偷偷找Akamai的同僚確認)。在中國區，政府可以做到暴力地讓用戶切其它vendor。但對於海外，中資背景的公有云廠商，在目前政治環境下，很難取得安全、隱私等方面的認可，它難以被非中資背景的業務採用。而中資背景的業務，儘管可以使用中資公有云，但當有了一定體量與影響力，要確保穩定性以及合規，離不開更受信賴的vendor：Akamai CDN，Akamai Edge Compute，以及AWS、GCP等公有云

對Akamai而言，擺脫泥潭未嘗不是好事，未來的重點仍然是云計算(Linode)與AI
